MANSFIELD — Friday night’s Final Friday show at The Brickyard in downtown Mansfield was cast amid perfect weather.

Temperatures in the mid 70s with a gentle breeze greeted revelers who took in an evening of live music from local performers.

“Tea” Allen, a 22-year-old Mansfield St. Peter’s graduate, opened the festivities by playing some of her own songs, along with a group of covers.

She was followed by Sweet Umbra, which features three friends who all graduated from Clear Fork. The group mixed a few of its own songs with popular covers from the 60’s to today.

Sweet Umbra consists of Justin Stewart on bass, Michael Rowe playing guitar, and Luke Drockton working the sticks on drums. The trio have been playing together for three years.

The evening concluded with the featured attraction Red Ball Jets taking the stage as darkness fell.

The popular Mansfield band, which has been in existence since 1996, cranked out a bevy of cover songs and was greeted by a group that moved toward the stage to dance.

Final Friday was hosted by local disc jockey Tommy Barnes and included food truck vendors and free rides from the Richland County Transit bus service.

The next Final Friday will be on Aug. 30.
