R. David Doerr of Winter Park, Florida passed away on March 13th, 2024, at the home of his daughter after a long illness. David was born in Mansfield to Richard A. and Ida Mae Doerr on July 20th, 1939. He graduated from Mansfield Senior High School and served his country in the U.S. Navy. David loved daily walking outdoors and shopping at Sam’s Club. He was known for his ability to find a “great deal” on a car, truck, or boat.
David is survived by his children, stepdaughter, Andrea Mickley, and daughter, Hope (Michael) Williams. Grandchildren, Amanda (Mike) Garcia, of Florida and Clayton (Kristin) Mickley of Ohio, Katelyn and Kristina Glover, David (Margaret) Doerr, Jonathan (Betul) Beckam, Destiny (Christopher) Crawford, Faith Williams, James (Melissa) Williams, Trey Doerr, and Mitchell (Taryn) Doerr, all of Florida, and great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sister Diann (Robert) Barnett of Ontario, Ohio and brother Gary R. (Jean) Doerr of Sacramento, California.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Diana L. Doerr, daughter, Lori Doerr-Glover, son, R. David Doerr, Jr., brother, Lynn A. Doerr and great-grandson Kane Williams.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 13th at 11:00am at Mansfield Memorial Park.
