Marie Elizabeth Metcalfe, age 64, of Ontario, passed away Monday evening, March 11, 2024, at Avita Health System-Ontario Hospital.
Born September 25, 1959, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Agnes (Mikolay) and James Kocour. On April 6, 1979, she married William “Dale” Metcalfe, and became a full-time homemaker. She dearly loved her children and enjoyed watching and supporting her grandchildren at their sporting events. Making crafts with her grandchildren was a special time. Marie was an animal lover and often cared for many cats. She enjoyed walks and completing puzzles. Marie will be remembered as a smart, funny, compassionate and loving woman. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Marie is survived by her husband of nearly 45 years, Dale Metcalfe; three children, Brittany (Carl) Ireland, Andrea Metcalfe (Brandon Landry) and Bill (Kayla) Metcalfe; five grandchildren, Brylie and Kendall Ireland and Cali, Cora and Brooklyn Metcalfe; four sisters, Jeanne Uehlein, Gail Prachniak, Diane Krowka and Roz Gase; in-laws, Sandy Hild, Shirley Huskey and Donna Crosser; a close friend, Teresa Ashton; and many cherished family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Kocour; and her parents-in-law, Bill and Sarah Metcalfe.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m.
