MANSFIELD — The City of Mansfield Shade Tree Commission, as part of its ongoing education program, will once again have the wonderful opportunity to present to the fourth-grade students at Malabar Intermediate School.
This year’s program will include participation from Mayor Jodie Perry, Louis Andres, Director, and Parks Supt. Mike Woogerd, who will join Shade Tree Commission members in engaging with students.
Together, they will present information on the importance of trees, environmental stewardship, and urban forestry. Shade Tree Commission members will also provide tree saplings and will share hands-on guidance with students on how to properly plant and care for them.
Each fourth-grade student will receive a tree seedling, complete with planting instructions for outdoor planting or container growth.
The seedlings will be made possible through the generous donation of the Richland Soil & Water Conservation District, whose continued support will help grow environmental awareness in our community.
The City of Mansfield Shade Tree Commission will be proud to support environmental education and will look forward to continuing its partnership with Malabar Intermediate School for years to come.
The Commission will extend its sincere thanks to Mr. Hager, Principal of Malabar Intermediate, for continuing this long-standing partnership, and to the outstanding students at Malabar.
