Thomas C. Stimens , 78, of Mansfield, Ohio , passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in Fredericktown, Ohio, on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024.

Thomas was born on November 15, 1945, in Mansfield, Ohio. and was the son of the late Joseph and Helen Stimens also of Mansfield, Ohio.

He truly was one of a kind and will be missed tremendously. He was deemed a master of all trades. He specifically mastered in residential and commercial construction and was a highly skilled drywall finisher. He worked all over Richland County and surrounding areas. He developed cancer about 8 ½ years ago, but that did not stop him from completing jobs even wearing a chemo pump. He truly had the biggest heart and the strongest hands that would gladly reach out to help anyone in need. He knew no stranger, and if there was something that someone needed, he would go out of his way to search for it until he found it. He was a man who worked tirelessly from sunup to sundown, loving to keep busy.

His favorite pass times were going to flea markets, pick and pull places, consignment auctions and visiting family out of state. Coffee was a mainstay for him. He was very light-hearted and had an awesome sense of humor. He always put everyone ahead of himself, lived a humble life and never asked anyone for anything. It is true that “when God made Thomas C. Stimens, He broke the mold”. Thomas loved his family unconditionally, they were his world.

Thomas was a member of The Church on the Rise in Mount Vernon, Ohio, and loved serving and helping every month at the church food pantry. He was also instrumental in rebuilding several areas of the church, including a new fellowship room and the building of a new loading dock.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sarah Kathryn (Campos) Stimens, his children, Tom (Maria) Stimens, Renee (James) Lawrence, Tysha (Joshua) Hoskins, Amanda “Millerbug” (Nukuma) Williams, Stephen Stimens; and his siblings, Joseph (Thelma) Stimens, Richard “Dick” (Phylis) Stimens, James “Jim” Stimens, Debbie Stimens; 14 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

Along with his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Thompson, a son, Jesse Stimens, and his grandson Russell Myers.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday March 23,2024 at The Henry Building at Whaley Park, 12 Mill St, Fredericktown, Ohio from 2-6 pm. Pastor Richard Hite will be officiating the service.
