ASHLAND — In response to those in need in Florida who were affected by Hurricane Ian, the congregation of Stone Lutheran Church in Ashland partnered with the North American Lutheran Church (NALC) Disaster Response team and Sherwin Williams in October.
The church collected disaster supplies that remain a priority as Florida tries to recover from the epic damage created from this storm and will help with Subtropical Storm Nicole which may become a hurricane.
Months later, the needs remain great after this historic Hurricane Ian left mass destruction from damaging winds, flooding and power outages.
Congregation members and the Women of the NALC worked together to collect a total of $600 in cash, $400 in gift cards, 14 health kits, 20 flood buckets, 20 Bibles and 12 blankets.
The buckets containing much needed supplies were donated by Sherwin Williams in Wooster.
If you would like to make a donation to help with the NALC’s disaster efforts, contact the church at 419-289-2865 or on its website at stonelutheranchurch.com. More information about how to help can also be found at disasterresponse@thenalc.org.
