MOUNT VERNON — A Knox County Grand Jury indicted Ronald E. Oliver, 34, of Mansfield on March 28, 2022, for illegal conveyance of drugs onto the grounds of a detention center. The charge is a third-degree felony.
Oliver was also indicted on one charge of corrupting another with drugs, a second-degree felony.
According to Knox County Prosecutor Chip McConville, Oliver allegedly brought drugs into the Knox County Jail when he was booked on a misdemeanor on March 17. It is further alleged that Oliver furnished some of those drugs to another individual on March 22, causing that individual serious harm.
In addition to Oliver’s indictment, the grand jury handed down eight other indictments:
Jamie L. Cline, Edison, failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, third-degree felony
Michael P. Cosner, Mount Vernon, burglary, second-degree felony; and unauthorized use of property, fifth-degree felony
Joseph R. Heins, Fredericktown, aggravated possession of drugs, third-degree felony
DeJuan M. Edwards, Reynoldsburg, theft, fifth-degree felony
Warren P. Hatfield, Mansfield, aggravated possession of drugs, fifth-degree felony
Aaron D. Lifer, Butler, one count each of misuse of credit cards and theft, both fifth-degree felonies
Joshua F. Daye, Marengo, breaking and entering, fifth-degree felony; theft, first-degree misdemeanor; and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, fourth-degree misdemeanor
Scott A. Hershey, Mount Vernon, aggravated possession of drugs and possession of cocaine, both fifth-degree felonies
