The Farmer’s Almanac maintains that if March roars in like a lion, it should go out gentle, like a lamb.

In between, however, the third month on the calendar continues to behave like a spoiled child — i.e. doing whatever the hell it wants.

A a few days after north central Ohio saw torrential rains, high water and flooded roads, the weather gods have decided to bestow upon us yet another potential snowstorm.

According to the National Weather Service office in Cleveland, north central Ohio could see 4 to 6 inches of snow Friday afternoon and into Saturday morning.

“As of now, it will more than likely impact Richland County in the late afternoon/evening hours,” said county EMA Director Joe Petrycki.

“It will start as rain in the afternoon, transition to a wintry mix in the evening, and then heavy, wet snow after 8 p.m.,” he said.

“This could make travel Friday night and Saturday morning hazardous. If you have travel plans, please monitor the forecast and plan accordingly,” Petrycki said.

Enjoy your weather Thursday. It will be partly sunny today with a high near 45. Mostly cloudy tonight with a low around 27.

The good news is any snow Friday/Saturday won’t stick around. There is plenty of sun in the forecast later in the weekend with a high of 40 on Sunday and 52 on Monday.

But please keep in mind there are still almost three weeks left in the month. Bear in mind, however, what Shakespeare wrote in his play, “Julius Caesar.”

Something about “Beware the Ides of March,” I believe.
