MANSFIELD — Three of the top six boys basketball players in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference call Richland County home.
Shelby’s Alex Bruskotter and Andre Hill and Ontario’s Darian Delbrugge were selected to the All-MOAC first team.
A 6-foot-6 sophomore swingman, Bruskotter led the MOAC in scoring at 19.6 points a game. He also ranked among MOAC leaders at 7.2 rebounds a night.
The 6-foot Hill, who will play football at Division III powerhouse Mount Union, averaged 12.6 points a game and tied for the conference lead at 4.1 assists a game. He helped the Whippets win their third straight MOAC title.
A 6-foot-2 junior guard, Delbrugge averaged a team-best 11.9 points a game. The Warriors finished fourth in the MOAC.
Other first-team picks included Marion Harding’s Wes Stokes, Pleasant’s Trey Booker and River Valley’s Carson Smith.
Shelby’s Jeremy Holloway and Ontario’s Carter Weaver were selected to the All-MOAC second team. Holloway averaged 8.8 points and a conference-leading 7.7 rebounds a game, while Weaver was good for 7.8 points a night.
Other second-teamers were Highland’s Jordan Bellamy and Garrett Fitspatrick, Marion Harding’s Riley Keeran and River Valley’s Karson Lang.
Ontario’s Braxton Hall, Clear Fork’s Mason Pipes and Galion’s Rece Payne were honorable-mention selection. Hall averaged 10.6 points a game while Pipes averaged 4.4 points and Payne was good for 10.3 points a game.
The remaining honorable mention picks included Highland’s Brock Church, Harding’s Marguis Long and Pleasant’s Wiley Smith.
