GREEN TOWNSHIP — A Sterling man was killed after a two-vehicle fatal crash occurred on Monday morning in Wayne County, according to the Wooster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Kevin Graves, 35, of Sterling, was operating a 2010 Nissan Altima. Graves was pronounced dead at the scene by the Wayne County Coroner’s Office. Graves was wearing his safety belt at the time of the crash.

Anthony Wilden, 50, of Apple Creek, was operating a 1999 Freightliner commercial tractor trailer. Wilden was not injured in the crash. Wilden was wearing his safety belt at the time of the crash.

Initial investigation revealed Grave was northbound on County Road 54. Wilden was pulling out from a private driveway to turn southbound on County Road 54.

Wilden had stopped to negotiate the tight turn. Graves struck the left side of the tanker trailer of Wilden’s commercial vehicle.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:10 a.m. on County Road 54 (Honetown Road) just north of County Road 226 (Schellin Road), Green Township in Wayne County.

Assisting on scene were Central Fire Department and EMS,Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, North End Garage, Wayne County Coroner Office, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s traffic crash reconstruction unit.

This crash remains under investigation. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in this crash.
