ONTARIO — The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc. is offering a free Matter of Balance workshop to the public over ZOOM.
Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities to prevent falls.
Matter of Balance is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels. The Matter of Balance program emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls.
Class participants will learn to view falls as controllable, set goals for increasing activity, make changes to reduce fall risks at home, and exercise to increase strength and balance.
Who should attend? Anyone concerned about falls; anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility, and strength; anyone who has fallen in the past; anyone who has restricted activities because of falling concerns.
The Area Agency on Aging will be offering a Matter of Balance class July 22 through Sept. 9, from 10 a.m. to noon every Thursday. The class will be taught virtually over ZOOM. For more information on this program, or to register to participate call 567-247-6476.
