Patsy Lee (Herring) Elliott, 71, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully after a short illness on March 12, 2021.

She was born to Carl R. Herring and June (Williams) Herring on November 19, 1949 in Decatur, IL, was a graduate of Lakeview High school and studied Practical Theology at Mount Vernon Bible College, where she received her Ministry License.

She loved God, her family, the outdoors, amusement parks, playing games and puzzles, enjoyed worship music, taking afternoon drives in the country and playing piano. Patsy was a creative person who loved to work with her hands. She had a great sense of humor and loved making people laugh. God gifted her with the sweetest soul and the ability of making everyone she met feel welcomed.

She always looked at the bright side of life (at her blessings) and she did not fret about what she didn’t have because she knew God would provide. Patsy was a great example of unwavering faith and unconditional love. No matter what was happening in her life, she would always check in and pray with her loved ones.

Patsy is survived by her children Doug (Janelle) Schartiger and Sherri Schartiger, grandchildren Brenna and Brayden Schartiger, siblings Gloria (John) Jeffers, Rosalyn (Steve) Rinehart, Mark (Kim) Herring, Marshall Herring, Stan Herring and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and June Herring, husband Donald G. Elliott, son Micheal Schartiger, and grandson Zain Faulcon.

A private celebration of Patsy’s life will be scheduled at a later time.
