Edward J Hoffmann, 79, died peacefully, March 12th, at his home in Canal Winchester, Ohio. Born March 7, 1942 in Mansfield, Ohio. He was the son of the late Gustav and Louise Hoffmann. 

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Becky, his daughter and son-in- law, Robyn and Mike Petras, and granddaughter, Summer Petras. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Renee and son, Ryan.

Ed retired from General Motors in Mansfield after 36 years where he enjoyed working in the Tool and Die Design Department. His passion for hobbies included traveling, skiing, photography, racquetball, golf, and singing with The Fun Center Chordsman for 33 years.

Ed was a member of the First Christian Church in Mansfield where he served in many positions. There he helped initiate the monthly Saturday community free breakfast. He was a member of the Mansfield Liederkranz for over 50 years, celebrating his German roots. He and his wife participated in the Parkinson’s support group in Mansfield, OH.

Living with Parkinson’s Disease for 13 years did not impede his positive attitude and kindness for all people.

A memorial celebration will be announced at a later date due to Covid safety.
