Pauline Lucille (Beard) Theaker

Pauline Lucille (Beard) Theaker, 97, of Mansfield, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, January 7, 2021, from complications due to congestive heart failure.

Pauline was born on October 14, 1923, in Attica, Seneca County, Ohio, the youngest of six children of Elwood Jesse Beard and Magdalena Zink Beard.

She married Carl Charles Theaker on May 11, 1940. They were married for 65 years until his passing on September 16, 2005. She was a devoted wife and mother. Pauline worked in the Madison School District as a cafeteria worker for over 20 years. She and her husband also worked at the local fairs in the concession wagons. Her family was her everything, and she was a good listener and confidante. Pauline loved music and was often humming or singing a song. She had many hobbies including: playing cards, reading, planting flowers and crocheting. Pauline was ever the optimist and always tried to see the good in life and in others.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Debby Theaker; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Vaughn Mullet; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild due in February. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Carl Beard; sisters, Naomi Nagel, Louise Nagle, Helen Selby, and Irene Goddard; husband, Carl C. Theaker; and her loving companion, George Jeftinich.

Pauline will be greatly missed, but will live on in our hearts and memories.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service conducted by Pastor Christine Bell will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the veterans section of Mansfield Cemetery. In compliance with the governor’s mandate, all guests must wear a face covering and maintain appropriate social distancing during their visit. Memorial contributions may be made to OhioHealth Hospice.
