MANSFIELD — The holidays are always a special time in the city. Decorations color the streets and there’s excitement in the air, particularly for children and their parents.
It’s been that way for a long time.
Both of these images are the same block of Main Street at Christmastime: the one looking north, and one facing south between Third and North Park Streets.
The arched lights over Main were pretty new in 1909, and proved to be conveniently suitable for stringing garland and mistletoe.
