NORTH ROBINSON – During previous school years, Hannah Crawford Elementary has hosted its 4th grade students along with their parents for an arts night. However, as with most events this year, the arts night has gone virtual.
Sarah Galat, the elementary art teacher said all 74 students in 4th grade received some air dry clay to take home for the virtual event on Monday, November 16th, but the kids do have flexibility on when they complete the project.
Galat said this project is perfect for the children to follow instructions but still use their creativity. When they complete the owl and let it dry, they can attach a magnet and paint if desired.
Valerie Shaffner, the elementary physical education teacher, said students will be doing an activity called “Make My Move,” an activity that has them opening gift boxes that have 30-second fun challenges inside.
Students will receive in class instruction on how to access instructions on their Google classroom. Hannah Crawford Elementary Principal Cindy Voss said this fun activity has a second purpose. It is also part of preparing students to be able to access Google classroom and other future online lessons if it would be required.
Colonel Crawford Local Schools provides education to over 900 students from preschool through 12th grade. The district offers a curriculum with a wide range of electives and comprehensive courses of study in college preparatory, vocational and physical education programs.
