MANSFIELD: Carly Canning Daugherty, age 25, unexpectedly passed away September 20, 2020, in Marion.
Carly was born February 8, 1995, in Mansfield the daughter of Mark Daugherty and Christy (Canning) Daugherty and was baptized at First United Methodist Church in Mansfield. Carly attended Lexington High School and Pioneer Career & Technology Center with the class of 2013 and later earned her GED. She worked as a tech at The Kidney Center in Mansfield and enjoyed her job there. Carly attended Crossroads Community Church and loved the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior.
Carly’s smile could light up a room and her contagious laughter was loved by family and friends. She enjoyed Cedar Point so much that she wished she could spend every day there. She loved going to the beach and being outdoors and in younger years enjoyed fishing and hunting. Carly also loved neon pink—the brighter the better—and listening to music.
She is survived by her mother Christy Daugherty (Shawn Stage); her father Mark (Teresa) Daugherty; brothers Mark (Amber) Daugherty, Nick (Samantha) Daugherty, and Alex (Mallory) Daugherty; paternal grandfather Thomas Daugherty; maternal grandmother Eleanor Canning; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Carly was preceded in death by paternal grandmother Marilyn Daugherty and maternal grandfather James T. “Jim” Canning.
Her family will hold a private memorial service officiated by Carly’s uncle Dave Green at Snyder Funeral Homes (2553 Lexington Ave in Mansfield) with a reception at the Mansfield Liederkranz to follow.
