MANSFIELD — The United Way of Richland County had its ninth-annual Power of the Purse event virtually Sept. 3.
It will follow with a livestreaming live auction on Sept. 11 at 7 p.m.
“This event has become the signature fundraising event for United Way,” said Dan Varn, United Way executive director.
“It has been very successful and attendance has grown each year to over 300 attendees in 2019. We tried to pull off an in-person event, But to protect the health of our community, we opted to go virtual.”
The event will kick off online with silent auction items, raffle purses, Stock the Bar raffle and the popular mystery bags. These will continue up until the livestreaming of the live auction items on Sept. 11 at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $20 per entry or $50 for VIP entry that includes a bottle of wine from 1285 Winery, wine glass, dessert and POP facemask. VIP POP-in-a-box are also available for a virtual watch party for $400. These includes 8 entries, 4 bottles of wine, 8 wine glasses, 8 desserts and 8 POP facemasks. Each entry is entered to win a Kate Spade tote worth $300.
