ONTARIO – An offer to play for the 2020 College Scouting Bureau (CSB) Baseball National Team has been extended to Ontario High School Senior Danny King.
The offer was extended after King’s promising performance and reviews from college coaches at the CSB’s baseball combine in Sylvania. The CSB team will be traveling to Pennsylvania, Florida, Nebraska, and California in the coming months with a roster of 12. They will be competing and playing for college coaches in tournaments across the country.
King, who has been playing baseball since the age of 4, played for Ohio Pitbulls Baseball, in the Ohio Prospects League in the Cleveland, Ohio area.
“Danny has all the potential to be a special athlete and I’m proud of him making the national team,” said Ohio Pitbulls manager Ryan Lanigan. “He is not only our starting catcher with all the skills defensively, but also swings a good bat.
“He is an excellent teammate and strong leader. Danny has definitely been one of my favorite players to coach and I can’t wait to see how this young man progresses.”
Every year, athletes attend CSB camps and college combines across the country. The CSB staff is comprised of former, and current, college coaches in baseball and softball, who have all gone through the recruiting process and who help position potential college athletes.
“I’ve had wins and failures throughout my entire baseball career, but that’s baseball and that’s life,” King said. “One of my favorite places to be is on the field and behind that plate. My goal is to work hard and play as long as I’m able to.”
King will be attending the College Coaches Showcase in Dublin this month.
