CRESTLINE — The Crestline Historical Society Board of Directors has approved re-opening the 400 Scott St. Museum on Saturday, July 18 from 2 to 4 p.m.

The museum will also be open Sunday, July 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. Beginning in August, the established schedule will begin, the first and third full weekends of each month.

The re-opening goal is to be in compliance with Governor DeWine’s guidelines in order to have a safe environment for museum volunteers and our patrons/visitors. The Society Policy Committee created the Best Practice Document from the following resources: Ohio Department of Health, Gov. Dewine Coronavirus website, Ohio Museum Association Webinar, Conference call with Crawford County Health Commissioner Blythe Buurma and CDC Guidelines.

An ODH flyer will be posted at the entrance of the museum : ATTENTION- not to enter if symptomatic. This flyer produced by ODH lists the COVID19 symptoms.

The Best Practices include- museum volunteers to wear mask during the open house. Flyers to be posted to encourage visitors to wear masks and social distance. ODH Flyer Coronavirus “Prevention” throughout the display/exhibit area will be posted.

Placement of hand sanitizers and flyers promoting handwashing/sanitizing. Museum volunteers will disinfect and sanitize high contact surfaces every two hours during events.

CDC flyer–Stop the spread of Germs will be posted in each restroom. The capacity will be a ratio of 1 volunteer for 10 ti 12 visitors. This would require visitors to wait outside until inside visitors exit to maintain the 1 to 10/12 ratio. The goal will be to have two volunteers on open house weekends.

The Society looks forward to the re-opening and encourages all citizens to remember #weareallinthistogether.
