MADISON TOWNSHIP — A motive and an official ruling emerged Monday in what has now been labeled an attempted murder/suicide in connection with Thursday night’s shooting on Fleming Falls Road in Madison Township.
According to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, 54-year-old Alesia Litteral is still hospitalized and continues to receive treatment after sustaining several wounds. She has not yet been interviewed, but will be when physically able. She was reported in critical condition on Friday night. No further update of her condition was available at the time of publication.
Ian Davidson, 40, was found dead in the bedroom of the ranch style brick residence in what authorities have determined was a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Toxicology reports are pending.
Detectives from the Richland County Sheriff’s Major Crimes United arrived on the scene and began their investigation after a 911 call at approximately 9:28 p.m. on Aug. 8. Officers arrived at 1177 Fleming Falls Road after a neighbor alerted authorities that someone had been shot at the home.
During the probe, officials learned Litteral and Davidson were married. But Litteral reportedly informed neighbors that they were having problems, and she wanted him to leave the residence.
The Ohio Bureau of Investigation and Identification was contacted and processed the scene for evidence. In addition, drugs, guns and ammunition were seized from the home.
