MANSFIELD — The United Way of Richland County will kick off its annual Day of Caring on Friday at 8:15 a.m. at the gazebo in Central Park.

There are 26 companies and organizations planning to supply 280 volunteers at 15 project sites, supporting 35 projects around the community.

A light breakfast will be served by The Blueberry Patch and Miss Ohio Caroline Grace Williams will sing the National Anthem.

Day of Caring is an opportunity for team building and provides the chance for people to make a positive impact in the community, organizers said.

Volunteers spend the day with a United Way partner agency or other non-profit agency, completing projects and increasing their awareness of local human service agencies.

VIP sponsors for the event include OhioHealth, Avita, Mechanics Bank, Richland Bank, Advantage Credit Union, Milliron Industries, Warren Rupp and Rinehart, Walters, Danner & Associates.
