LEXINGTON — Lexington Junior High was on a working lockdown Thursday afternoon, due to a threat written on a restroom wall, according to an e-mail from the school district.

Police were at the 90 Frederick St. school as a safety precaution, according to the district and village police department.

“We had a non-credible threat on a bathroom wall,” said Chief Brett Pauley. “I’m not sure what the threat said. We have officers (there) until school lets out.”

Pauley said the school resource officer informed LPD of the threat and police arrived quickly.

“I’m not sure what time we were notified, but it was with in the hour,” he said at 2:38 p.m., just as the school day ended.

Police are still investigating the incident, Pauley said.
