MANSFIELD — Two juveniles and an adult were allegedly involved in a same-day string of robberies, according to the Richland County Prosecutor’s office.

Robert Porter, 19, and two juveniles spent Nov. 27, 2018 committing robberies of five victims at gunpoint, injuring a 12-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy, according to the Richland County prosecutor’s office. Assistant Prosecutor Amanda James alleged the trio took a belt and shoes from the victims.

The event took place in the area of West Third Street and Bowman Street.

Porter’s four-count indictment includes aggravated robbery with a firearm specification, three counts of robbery and another firearm specification.

James said the aggravated robbery stems from Porter allegedly having a deadly weapon and fleeing immediately after committing the offense or brandishing the weapon or using the weapon.

“There’s also three counts of robbery,” James said. “One count is for having a deadly weapon on his person or under his control. Then there are two separate counts of robbery for injuring two separate victims during the course of the robbery.”

In other indictments, Kylie Newman, Tyler Newman and German Zuniga could face mandatory time behind bars for an incident on Feb 6, 2019.

Kylie has been indicted for trafficking in cocaine with forfeiture specification, possession of cocaine with forfeiture specification, funding drug trafficking and a hidden compartment in a vehicle.

“It appears that on this date, the controlled substance, cocaine, exceeds or amounts to 100 grams,” James said. “Which is an amount indicating mandatory time, as far as sentencing time.”

James said the cases, all with similar indictments on the offense date of Feb. 6, 2019 were connected.

Tyler Newman has been indicted for trafficking in cocaine with a forfeiture specification, possession of cocaine with a forfeiture specification, funding drug trafficking and a hidden compartment in a vehicle.

Tyler’s file showed offenses spanning from Aug. 1, 2017 to Feb. 6, 2019.

Zuniga has been indicted with trafficking in cocaine with a forfeiture specification, possession of cocaine with a forfeiture specification, funding drug trafficking, hidden compartment in a vehicle and identity fraud. Zuniga’s charge includes $1,741 worth of cocaine, James said.

Andre Sayoc, 21, a former student at The Ohio State University at Mansfield, has been indicted for 10 counts pandering obscenity involving a minor and 10 counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor.

From May 31 to July 20, Sayoc is alleged to have had 10 (computer) files of obscene and sexually oriented matter.

“There’s a difference between pandering obscenity, where you have the more obscene child pornography images,” James said, “versus the sexually oriented matter of juveniles, but not as obscene.”

James said Sayoc’s arrested stemmed from a report from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children. He was arrested by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

“Andre Sayoc was last enrolled at Ohio State Mansfield in the summer of 2016, before the events in question occurred, said Norman Jones, dean director of OSU Mansfield. “He was then a student on the Columbus campus for a couple of years but is not currently an Ohio State University student on any campus.”
