ASHLAND — The Ohio Department of Transportation has issued its construction report for the week of July 2.

There will be no new work impacting traffic on Independence Day. ODOT works with its contractors to reduce the size of work zones and open as many lanes as possible. All work will resume Thursday, July 5.

Ashland County drivers are urged to use caution on these roads:

County Road 1302

CR 1302, at the structure over I-71, will close Thursday, July 5 for bridge repairs. The detour route for westbound motorists is CR 1302 to SR 89, north on SR 89 to US 42, southwest on US 42 to CR 1302, and reverse for eastbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen Sunday, Aug. 19, 2018.

US Route 30

US 30, from SR 511 to SR 60, will have intermittent single lane closures as crews work to complete a micro-surfacing project. The project will utilize speed limit signs to reduce the speed and maintain the flow of traffic. The reduced speed limit when workers are present will be 50 mph; the posted speed limit when crews are NOT working will be 60 mph. The project is expected to be complete July 2018.

State Route 58

SR 58 will close Thursday, July 5 for two culvert replacements. The first location is north of Co. Rd. 620 and the second location is north of Twp. Rd. 782. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 58 to SR 302, east on SR 302 to SR 89, north on SR 89 to SR 58, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen Friday, Aug. 3, 2018.

State Route 60

SR 60, between Twp. Rd. 1894 and Twp. Rd. 1806, is closed for a culvert replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 60 to US 30, west on US 30 to SR 511, north on SR 511 to SR 60, and reverse for southbound motorists. The project is expected to be complete July 2018.

Interstate 71

***There will be no work impacting traffic during the week of July 2-6. All work will resume Monday, July 9.***

I-71, from US 250 to the Wayne County line, will have intermittent single lane closures during the day and double lane closures at night for a resurfacing project. Crews will mill and pave the northbound middle lane during the night. Nightly pavement repairs will take place from 8pm-7am. The project will utilize digital speed limit signs to maintain traffic flow. The posted speed limit when crews are NOT working will be 65 mph; the reduced speed limit when workers are present will be 55mph. The project is expected to be complete August 2018.

Township Road 653

TR 653, between US 250 and TR 685, is closed for bridge repairs. The detour route for northbound motorists is to take US 250 east to TR 593, north on TR 593 to TR 1302, west to TR 1302 back to TR 653, and reverse for southbound motorists. The project is expected to be complete September 2018.

US 250

US 250, between Twp. Rd. 926 and CR 956, will close Monday, July 9 for a culvert replacement.

The detour route for northbound motorists is US 250 to US 42, northeast on US 42 to SR 89, north on SR 89 to SR 58, north on SR 58 to US 224, west on US 224 to US 250, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018.

State Route 95

State Route 95, from just east of Green TR 2704 moving east consecutively to just west of Ashland CR 37, will close Monday, July 9 for multiple culvert replacements.

Crews will consecutively move west to east along SR 95 to complete all seven culverts. The location and time frame for each culvert is as follows:

1.) July 9-July 13: just east of TR 2704

2.) July 16-July 20: just west of TR 707

3.) July 23-July27: just west of TR 707

4.) July 30-August 3: just west of TR 2475

5.) August 6-August 10: between TR 2402 and TR 457

6.) August 13-August 17: just west of SR 89

7.) August 20-August 24: just west of CR 37

The detour route is the same for all seven culverts. Motorists heading northeast should travel SR 95 to SR 39, southeast on SR 39 to SR 3, northeast on SR 3 to SR 95, and reverse for southwest motorists. The road is expected to reopen Friday, August 24, 2018.
