Cassandra Yvonne Jones, 64, passed this life on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018 in Ohio Health MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a brief illness.
Mrs. Jones was born on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 1953 to the late Elder Canty Gaddy and Margaret H. (House) Gaddy in Tampa, Florida. Cassandra graduated from Wooster High School in 1971 where she later moved to Mansfield, Ohio in 1972 and remained 46 years.
She met her husband at General Motors where she was employed and later left to take care of her family full-time.
Cassandra was a faithful member of Trinity Gospel COGIC founded by her father, Elder Canty Gaddy, where she served in the Sunday School, Youth, Music and Hospitality Departments. Also, she served as the church secretary. In addition, she was involved in the Mansfield District Choir and the District Young People Willing Workers (YPWW).
After her father’s passing she attended Providence Baptist Church where she recently joined the congregation serving in the Hospitality and Music Ministries. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time loving on her grandchildren.
Cassandra is survived by her husband Elder Woodrow Jones Jr.; two daughters: Andrea C. Jones, Chantilly, of Virginia; Lolita (Howard) V. Jamison, Aldie, of Virginia; son: Woodrow (Teisha) Brian Jones, of Georgetown, Kentucky; mother: Margaret H. Gaddy, of Mansfield; five grandchildren: Dominic Jones, Joy and Malea Jones, Jonathan and Laila Jamison; and brother: Eugene (Lisa) Gaddy, Mansfield.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, at 11 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church. Friends may call the church at 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Interment will be at Mansfield Cemetery.
The family will also receive family and friends at their home daily from noon till 6 p.m. until the day of service.
