CRESTLINE – Winning a house for only $100, it sounds too good to be true. But it’s possible in Crestline.

St. Joseph Catholic Church of Crestline intends to sell 650 raffle tickets at $100 apiece for its “Keys in Crestline” capital campaign. The project raises funds to maintain the exterior of the church, restore the stain-glassed windows and upgrade the parish heating system.

The grand prize: A fully remodeled house at 528 N. Columbus St.

“Keys in Crestline” works as a reverse raffle. The last ticket drawn wins the house, which includes three bedrooms, one bathroom, new roofing, new flooring and carpeting, new kitchen with appliances, a remodeled garage and a basement with “lots of storage.”

Participants also have a chance to win prizes of $100, $500 or $1,000. Every 10th ticket wins its $100 back, and the second and third to last tickets drawn win the other top prizes.

Tickets can be purchased in the St. Joseph’s parish office at 331 N. Thoman St. in Crestline, the Sacred Heart of Bethlehem at 5742 Ohio 61 in Shelby, Dzugan Real Estate Services at 204 N. Seltzer St. in Crestline, Holcker Hardware at 320 N. Seltzer St. in Crestline or the Depot Deli at 141 N. Seltzer St. in Crestline.

Open houses at 528 N. Columbus St. will be held Sunday, Jan. 14 from noon to 2 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 4 from noon to 2 p.m.

The drawing will take place at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 28 at the St. Joseph Convocation Center. Winners don’t need to be present, but they must be at least 18 years old. The winner is responsible for taxes.
