GALION – The Galion City School District Board of Education spent the first portion of its regular monthly meeting recognizing outstanding athletic accomplishments July 18.
Seven student-athletes received commendations from the board for achieving All-Ohio honors during the 2017 spring sports season. Individuals recognized included: Colin McCullough (State Champion-300 meter hurdles; 110 meter hurdles-3rd Place); Colbey Fox, Takoda Crisman, Harrison Ivy and McCullough (4×400 Meter Relay-6th Place); Marisa Gwinner (High Jump-4th Place); Garrett Kuns (2nd Team All-Ohio Baseball); Mac Spears
(2nd Team All-Ohio Baseball).
The Board of Education also accepted a donation from the Galion Booster Club toward the purchase of
weight room equipment at the Heise Park Stadium. The board approved all items on the agenda as presented.
The Galion City School District Board of Education will hold a special work session at 6:30 p.m. and the
Administrative Center Tuesday, August 1. The next regular monthly meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Galion
Middle School Computer Lab Tuesday, August 15.
