Gregory D. Trail

Gregory D. Trail, 61, of Mansfield passed away at home July 15, 2017 after the Lord came and took his hand.

Greg was born June 3, 1956 in Mansfield to Gilbert and Thelma Merkel Trail. He was a graduate of Madison High School and studied pre-RN at North Central State College.

Greg was a former supervisor for Mansfield Screw Machine, former district manager for New Life Fitness Center for many years, and retired from having his own personal training fitness center. He was a former competitive body builder winning the title of Mr. Ohio 1998 and was a member of the Masons and Jourey Life Center.

Greg retired from the Ohio Air National Guard as a First Sergeant after 22 years. He loved life and enjoyed all of the fun times with his wife, family and special friends. 

Survivors include his wife of 22 years Doris Cyrus Trail; children Brandon (Angie) Clair with a grandchild on the way, from Indiana, and Lauren (Luke) LaBruyere with granddaughter Raelyn, of Virginia Beach; mother Thelma Trail, of Mansfield; sister Debra Hofacre, of Mansfield; brother Timothy (Cynthia) Trail, of Charleston, West Virginia; brother-in-law Willie (Barb) Cyrus; sister-in-law Donna (Mark) Riggenbach; special friend who was like a brother Roy Leedy; many nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Gil Trail, and brother Alan Trail. 

Friends may call at Herlihy-Chambers Funeral Home, 173 Park Avenue West, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. At 1 p.m. family and friends will have an opportunity to share memories in honor of Greg to celebrate his life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Herlihy-Chambers to help the family with funeral expenses.
