ASHLAND – The Coburn Gallery at Ashland University will host a national juried exhibition titled “Time Will Tell: A Show of Artistic Wisdom and Experience,” which features a collection of 31 artworks that embody the creativity and innovation of the artists aged 50 years and older at all levels of artistic endeavor.

This exhibition will be on display from June 30 until Aug. 13, with a closing reception on Aug. 13 from 2 to 4 p.m.

The exhibition features the following artists: Al Aitken, of Medina, Ohio; Donna Kensel Bargar, of Strongsville, Ohio; Francis Beaty, of Allentown, Pa.; Ruth B. Bercaw, of Rocky River, Ohio; Nancy Bixler, of Hallowell, Maine; Tony Brandstetter, of Verona, Pa; Nancy Dupre, of Ashland, Ohio; Pat Edwards. of Ashland, Ohio; Julie M. Elman, of Athens, Ohio; M.P. Freed, of Wooster, Ohio; Tom Hart, of Ashland, Ohio; Jane Johnson, of Mansfield, Ohio; Paul Keske, of Ashland, Ohio; Cheryl H. Kinderknecht, of West Bradenton, Florida; George Kocar, of Bay Village, Ohio; Irene Maginniss, of Mansfield, Ohio; Charles Mintz, of Cleveland, Ohio; Clare Murray Adams, of Southington, Ohio; Laurie Musser, of Strongsville, Ohio; Betsy Oberhousen, of Mansfield, Ohio; J. The juror for the exhibition was photographer and mixed media artist, Shari Wilkins. Wilkins received her first Bachelor of Arts degree from Kent State University and a second at Cleveland State University. She worked in NYC and San Francisco as promotions/marketing director at two small independent record companies. She created a forum to share her affinity for the photographic image and educate others on the process of developing film in the community darkroom, education center and gallery at the Cleveland Print Room, which opened in January 2013. Wilkins’ photography and mixed media work has been exhibited in the Greater Cleveland area, Columbus and elsewhere in Ohio.

Awards were announced on June 29 and Best in Show, a $500 award, was awarded to Purdy’s “Trustafarian.” Honorable Mentions, each a $150 award, were given to Beaty’s “Lift Off” and Keske’s “Captive” while Juror Mention awards were given to Kinderknecht’s “Dichotomies,” Musser’s “Great Horned Owl,” Stein’s “Through Line,” Urdang’s “Channeling Josephine Hopper,” and Weidner’s “Vivarium.”
