ASHLAND — There were 100 golfers among 25 teams at the 18th annual Ruth A. Lindsey Golf Benefit for Hospice of North Central Ohio (HNCO).
But two of them recorded holes in one at Ashland Golf Club on Friday, June 9.
Fred Slater landed a hole-in-one from the gold tees on Hole 10 using a 6-iron. Rick Troyer drained a 7-iron on Hole 6 from the white tees. Both golfers collected prizes along with bragging rights.
“It’s remarkable that out of 100 golfers, two got hole-in-ones,” said HNCO’s Chief Development Officer Ralph Tomassi. It was a great outing and we are thankful for the support from each sponsor, donor, volunteer, and golfer.”
The winning team with a score of 56 represented Farmers Bank and consisted of Brian Hinkle, Kevin Hinkle, Scott Sellers, and Eric Ferguson.
Named for HNCO founder Ruth Lindsey, the golf outing is an annual event that raises funds for the hundreds of patients and families served through the Hospices of Ashland, Knox, and Richland Counties, and Life’s Seasons Palliative Care, all members of Hospice of North Central Ohio.
HNCO is a partner agency of United Way of Ashland County. For more information, call 800-952-2207.
