Clemmie C. Lawrence Sr., 76, passed this life on Friday, June 2, 2017 at the home of his daughter Lisa after an extended illness.
Mr. Lawrence was born on Monday, Sept. 23, 1940 to the late Arlivie and Ada (Liggins) Lawrence in Andalusia, Alabama. He had lived in Mansfield the past 57 years.
Clemmie was employed with the Ohio Brass Company retiring in 1989 after 23 years of service.
Clemmie is survived by four daughters: Karla (James) Dingus, of Perrysville, Lisa (Benjamin) Ferguson, with whom he made his home, and Elder Shoundra Lawrence-Edwards, of Mansfield, and Kara Lawrence, of Cleveland; son: Clemmie (Aureliai) Lawrence Jr., of Virginia Beach, Virginia; seven grandchildren: Josephine Edwards, Latisha Lawrence, Amber Stanford, Anthony and Marcus Johnson, Justin Lawrence, Terrell Lawrence, Aaron Lawrence, and Chrirstopher Lawrence; seven great grandchildren; two honorary grandchildren: Chris Ernsberger, and Mykal Gullet; four siblings: Pearlie (Leon) Glover, Columbus, Rosa (Eddie) Grant, Albion, New York, Betty (James) Sheridan and Claude (Linda) Lawrence, Andalusia.
In addition to his parents Clemmie was preceded in death by his wife Sandra, two brothers, Taylor and R.V. Lawrence, one grandson. Perry C. Lawrence.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Services with Pastor Patricia Sullivan of the New Beginnings Full Gospel Baptist Church officiating. Friends may call at the chapel one hour prior beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
