Robert W. Lee, 77, of Ashland, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on Sunday, May 28, 2017, following a brief illness.

Robert was born on April 27, 1940, in Ashland, to Kermit W. and Ethel P. (McQuate) Lee.

He was a 1958 graduate of Ashland High School and a graduate of Midland College. He played basketball throughout his education.

On Oct. 20, 2012, he was inducted into the Ashland County Sports Hall of Fame.

Robert was employed as a supervisor at Abbott Labs. On Oct. 10, 1969, he married his sweetheart, Vivian A. (Derr) Lee, and she survives. He loved his family, and enjoyed spending time with them. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Ashland, and enjoyed basketball, fishing, and reading.

Along with his wife, Vivian, he is survived by five children, Brenda McQuillen, Deborah Evans, Richard (Deborah) Lee, Lori (Jeff) Siron, and Stacy Lee, all of Ashland; eight grandchildren, Derrick (Kristen) Kanzig, Haley McQuillen, Cameron McQuillen, Nikki Evans, Andrew Lee, Ryan Lee, Candace (Kevin) Poth, and Devin Maynard; and three great-grandchildren, Sawyer Kanzig, Alexis Poth, and Branson Poth.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at First Baptist Church, 1233 U.S. 42, Ashland. Memorial services will follow at the church with Pastor F.R. White officiating. Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Ave. East, is handling the arrangements.
