BUTLER — The Clear Fork Adventure Resort is now open for its second season with activities for all ages.
Located in Butler, the resort balances events for the local area and options for those visiting the area.
According to the World Travel and Tourism Council, resorts across America benefit communities through “travel and tourism” dollars and employment. By providing accommodation and activities, resorts directly impact communities by the retail dollars spent locally.
Job creation and tax dollars collected have a positive financial impact on their region. All features are welcome news to north central Ohio.
Amanda Rimar of the Clear Fork Adventure Resort says the business employs 17 workers to assist guests with activities on sight. The resort also hires area youngsters who work after school and through the summer.
Operations at the resort began in the middle of last summer making this its first full summer season. The resort is attempting to provide a wide variety of activities to attract the widest possible audience.
Rimar described a number rotating activities, including zorbing (rolling downhill in a plastic sphere), and downhill tubing. Rockwall climbing, wake boarding, swimming and pedal boats are other activities the resort offers.
A “learning barn” provides opportunities for kids of all ages to interact with several types of animals. Staff members say one favorite figures to be a hands-on milking activity.
Accommodations include primitive campsites or a room in one of six units at the resort.
Representatives of the resort say the rooms vary in size with two rooms providing bunk beds for larger groups.
Walking trails, bird watching, live music events and the “Woods and Water Lounge” can also be found. An Easter egg hunt is being planned for April 15.
The resort is attempting to organize a “Gold Rush Days” activity where participants could try their hand at panning for gold in the creek. “Stargazing nights” is another activity the resort is hoping to include in the future.
Rimar said that another activity announcement is likely to be made in coming weeks.
The Clear Fork Adventure Resort is located at 341 Resort Drive along Ohio 95 in Butler.
