MANSFIELD — Absentee/Early voting will commence Tuesday April 4, either by mail or in person at the Richland County Board of Elections, 1495 W. Longview Ave., Suite 101. The closest entrance is in the back of the Longview Center by the “Vote Here” sign and flag. If you enter through the front entrance, you must take the stairs or elevator down to the lower level.

Those who have requested absentee ballots by mail will have their ballot mailed out starting April 4.

Absentee applications to vote by mail are available by going online to: www.richlandcountyoh.us/boe, and then tapping the Absentee Tab at the top of the page, or by calling the office at 419.774.5530 to have one mailed to you.

EARLY IN PERSON VOTING HOURS FOR May 2, 2017 ELECTION

Tuesday April 4 – Regular Absentee/Early Voting Starts – Open 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. first 3 weeks.

Week of April 24 – Open 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. for Absentee/Early Voting – thru Friday April 28

Saturday April 29 – Open 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. for Absentee/Early Voting

Sunday April 30 – Open 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. for Absentee/Early Voting

Monday May 1 – Open 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. for Absentee/Early Voting

Please note: Not every precinct will be open for the May 2nd, 2017 Election. Some jurisdictions do not have any candidates or issues on the ballot for this Election. The following precincts will not be open for voting in May: All precincts in the City of Shelby, plus the following township precincts – Butler, Franklin, both Jackson precincts, all Jefferson precincts, both Monroe precincts, Sharon, all 3 Lexington and both Troy precincts, Washington-B, C, F, Weller, and all Worthington precincts. (Please note that the Shelby 3-B precinct has several voters who reside in the Plymouth Local School District and Cass Township portion. These voters will be notified by mail how and where to cast their ballot for the Plymouth School issue and Cass Township issue.)

Precincts that will be open for the May Election include: All City of Mansfield precincts, all City of Ontario and Springfield Township precincts, all Madison and Mifflin precincts, Bloominggrove, Cass, Perry, Plymouth, and Sandusky Township, and Washington A and D precincts for the voters in the Madison school district only. All precincts open will only have issues on their ballot, except for the Republican ballot in the Mansfield City 1st Ward. There are two Republican candidates for Mansfield 1st Ward Council.

If you want to view your ballot online, or check if your precinct is open for the May Election, please visit our website at www.richlandcountyoh.us/boe. Click on the red, white and blue “Voter View” icon towards the bottom of the home page. On the next page, hit the second tab at the top titled “Registration Information/Sample Ballot”. Enter your first and last name and your date of birth. If you have a ballot for the May Election, it will list your precinct number under “Sample Ballots”. If you do not have anything to vote on in May, it will state “No Upcoming Elections” beside the text “Polling Place.”
