MANSFIELD — Fifty-six teams from elementary schools in Ashland, Crawford, Morrow, Richland, and Wayne counties recently participated in the March Elementary School Academic Challenge Tournaments sponsored by and held at the Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center.
Schools participating included Ashland Christian, Colonel Crawford, Crestview, Crestline, Foundation Academy, Galion, Lexington, Mansfield City, Mt. Gilead, Northwestern, Shelby City, St. Mary’s (Mansfield), St. Peter’s and Wooster.
Winning fifth grade team members from Lexington included Zach Turlo, Sophia Roberts, Callie Kaschube and Austin Fisher. Runner-up team also from Lexington included Darcie Reinhart, Wesley Holtz, Noah Eckstein, Kylie Galownia.
Fourth grade winning team members from Parkview Elementary in Wooster included Megan Kleinhenz, Owen Buchholz, Cole Kumza and Lauren Hershberger. Fourth grade runner up team members from Cornerstone Elementary in Wooster included Audrey Edwards, Margaret McBride, Rhys Florence-Smith and Daniel Pasteur.
