James D. “Bub” Ramsey Jr., born Dec. 31, 1936 in Burnwell, West Virginia passed away peacefully in his home on March 23, 2017 to complete his final journey to the Lord.

Jim is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Morrow) Ramsey and his nine children, Marty Ramsey, West Virginia, Tonya Ramsey, West Virginia, Cora (Greg) Carter, West Virginia, Jimmie David Ramsey, West Virginia, Linda (Bill) Ramsey, Crestline, James (Tammy) Ramsey, Bucyrus, Steve (Renee) Ramsey, Bucyrus, Ted (Pam) Morrow, Bucyrus, and Chris (Sharon) Morrow, Rock Creek, Ohio, 22 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Jim married his beautiful bride, Charlotte on Dec. 16, 1967. Through the years, Jim gave of himself to his family, friends, and country. He served in the Army as a paratrooper. Following his service in the Army he went to work with his father and the family business and then moved on to truck driving to where he retired in 2003 from Holland. Enjoying his retirement years traveling with his wife and enjoying his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jim is also survived by his three sisters, Judy (Jim) Rogers, Kelly Price, of West Virginia, Kathy (Jerry) Mack, of Ashland, two brothers, Bill (Melba) Ramsey, of West Virginia, Larry (Sherry) Ramsey, of Florida. He is also survived by one brother-in-law, Charles (Anna Marie) Morrow and one sister-in-law, Patsy (Bob) Fishel, North Carolina.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James and Carrie Ramsey, his brother-in-law, Jr. Price and his grandson, Shawn Obey.

Friends may call Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 26 at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, Galion, with Pastor Carl Angel officiating.

The family will be gathering at the Aspen Terrace Club House following the service and would like to invite any family and friends who would like to join them in celebrating Jim’s life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jimmy Swaggart’s Ministries in care of the funeral home.
