Bonnie L. Mitchell, 61, of Galion passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Galion Pointe.
She was born Nov. 16, 1955 in Dayton and was the daughter of James and Carol (Humerick) Barney. On June 16, 1979 she married Craig A. “Cowboy” Mitchell and they enjoyed 24 years of marriage until his passing on Feb. 18, 2004.
Bonnie graduated from Madison High School and went on to North Central State where she received her Associate’s Degree in early childhood development. She worked as a Teacher’s Aid and Bus’s Aid for Clear Fork Schools. Bonnie had a special place in her heart for the children she worked with in school. She was a motorcycle enthusiast prior to the love of her life “Cowboy’s” passing.
Bonnie is survived by mom Carol Barney, of Mansfield; daughters Maggie (Conor) Setley, of Arden Hills, Minnesota and Miranda (Brandon) Jones, of Galion; six grandchildren Jocelyn, Trevor and Isaiah Setley, Ethan and Victoria Jones and Reilly McCane; brother Tim Barney, of Mansfield, several nieces and nephews and mother-in-law Betty Mitchell, of Lexington.
In addition to her father and husband, she is preceded in death by a brother David Barney and father-in-law Rollie Mitchell.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2017 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday March 24 with Rev. Ken Kinley officiating.
