ASHLAND — Hospice of North Central Ohio (HNCO) recently received a grant from the Richland County Foundation’s Board of Trustees for its annual children’s bereavement camp.
The grant of $12,522 from the Heloise H. Tappan Memorial Fund, Paul R. Tappan B. Fund and the W. Richard Tappan Fund, will offset costs incurred and provide funding for an equine program at Camp Hope (formerly KidScene) which takes place June 20-23, 2017, at Camp Mowana in Mansfield.
Also offered May 30-June 2, 2017, at Camp Mohaven in Danville, Camp Hope teaches coping and thriving skills, provides healing, and offers fun opportunities for grieving children aged 6 to 17 years. Hundreds of local families have been helped by this day-camp program.
HNCO Executive Director William Kahl said, “It is a privilege to serve children and positively affect local families through Camp Hope. It is only possible through the financial support of organizations like the Richland County Foundation.”
