ASHLAND — Six people were arrested Thursday as part of a drug trafficking investigation in Ashland.
According to a press release from the Ashland Police Department, officers from the Ashland Police Department, the Ashland Special Response Team and METRICH executed a search warrant at 1423 Cleveland Ave., Room 9, in Ashland.
Authorities seized suspected methamphetamine, drug abuse instruments, drug paraphernalia and evidence related to drug trafficking.
Steven Johnson, 41, and Shana Rhoades, 20, both of the Cleveland Avenue address, were arrested at the scene.
Joey Cruz, 28, and Nicholas Mateo, 39, both of Ashland, were also arrested at the scene.
Mateo had a warrant for his arrest out of Ashland Municipal Court, according to the press release.
Officers also arrested Ashlea Roberts, 24, later in the day as part of the investigation.
Malcom Evege, 22, of Mansfield, who was with Roberts, was arrested on a warrant out of Ashland Municipal Court.
As part of the investigation, Ashland County Children Services and the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office removed an 18-month-old child from an address on Ohio 511.
The case is being forwarded to the Ashland County prosecutor’s office for review.
