Marsena R. Brooks, 92, of Galion, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Galion Hospital.

Born May 1, 1924 in Galion, she was the daughter of Dr. Owen Roy and Virgle M. (Secrest) Kackley. She married Leo D. Brooks on July 18, 1945 and he preceded her on August 24, 2001.

Marsena was a graduate of Galion High School in 1942 and attended The Ohio State University. She worked as a realtor for 17 years at Fred Barr Realty. Marsena was a member of First United Church of Christ in Galion where she participated in the Bethany Circle. She was a member of TWIG at Galion Hospital where she also volunteered at the gift shop. Marsena was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and enjoyed crocheting.

She is survived by several nephews and nieces including Monya Moser, of Strongsville; sister-in-law Eleanor Kackley, of Columbus, and close friends Mary Ann and Doug Stone, of Galion.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by sister Norma G. Hullinger and brother Dr. D. Duane Kackley.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Darrin Harvey officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Galion.

Memorial contributions may be made to First United Church of Christ Endowment Fund or Crawford County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
