Linda S. (Gibson) Eldridge, 75, died Thursday March 9, 2017 at Ohio Health Mansfield.
Born July 15, 1941 in Shelby to Ernest and Emma (Esterling) Adkins, she had been a lifelong Shelby resident. Linda enjoyed riding motorcycles, Florida beaches, and shopping. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Billy Eldridge whom she wed April 21, 1984; two children Jeffrey (Tammi) Gibson, of Columbus, and Shana (Joshua) Hoyt, of Canterbury, Connecticut; five grandchildren Shane, Shelby, Elizabeth Gibson, Amisté Cusson and Casidhe Gibson Hoyt; five great-grandchildren; four step-children Aaron Eldridge, of Mt. Vernon, Billy D. (Toni) Eldridge, of Dayton, Jeffrey Eldridge, of Shelby, Kathy (Gene) Highfield, of Shelby, one brother Bob Adkins, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents Linda was preceded in death by her late husband James D. Gibson, four brothers Don Adkins, Russ Adkins, Delmar Adkins, Merval Adkins; five sisters Hazel Cooper, Alice Combs, Cathline Adkins, Lorain Roberts and Bernice Pittenger.
Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory. Pastor James Robinson of the United Church of Christ will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon.
