Sandra E. (Mannos) Roston of Galion went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, March 8, 2017. She was 69 years old. She was born March 31, 1947 in Canton to the late Peter Mannos and Frances E. Jack.
Sandi was a 1965 graduate of Galion High School and married Richard “Ric” Roston of Galion on August 3, 1973. She worked in Galion most of her life being employed at the former Peabody Galion, United Church Directories, managed Ric’s News, Marion Children Services and was the Family Life Coordinator at Parenthesis. Sandi found her passion later in life by being a foster mother to over 70 children in the span of 22 years. She always held a special place in her heart for each child that came into her home.
She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1999 and she never let MS determine how she was going to live her life. Sandi was a servant leader who raised her family selflessly, she lived life for her husband, children and grandchildren and always lived with a grateful heart and never complained about her circumstances. She practiced a life of gratitude and prayer and lived for the people she loved most. Sandi enjoyed cooking and dancing.
In addition to her husband Ric of 44 years of marriage she is also survived by her children who she has left a legacy of love, Angi (Tracy) Parrish of Youngstown, Rod (Allison) Roston of Nashville, Shani Roston-Rush of Galion; ten grandchildren who she adored, Madison and Matthew, Stone, Sophie, Sutton, Sam and Steele Roston, Lexi, Layni and Libbi Rush; half-sister Joan (Mannos) McDonald of Indianapolis, IN. and many loving brothers and sisters-in-law and special friends, who cared for her physically and spiritually.
She was preceded in death by her father, Peter Mannos and mother and step-father, Frances and Gene Jack.
Memorial calling hours will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Grace Point Church, 683 Portland Way North, Galion Ohio 44833 with a Memorial Service to be held at 4 p.m. with Rev. Paul Walter officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to find a cure to the Multiple Sclerosis Society in care of the funeral home.
