MANSFIELD – Gardeners, future gardeners, and fans of local foods and healthy living are all encouraged to attend the seventh annual Raising Richland Community Garden Summit on March 9, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Longview Center, 1495 W. Longview Avenue, Mansfield.
The event will feature an herbal tea demonstration by Nicholas Copley of Lionheart Medicinal Gardens, a fermentation demonstration by Chef Rasul Welch, and a Community Garden Panel.
Light refreshments, door prize drawings, and children’s activities will be provided. Area vendors will also be on hand with honey, glass garden art, teas, tinctures, starter plants and more.
The program is free and open to the public. The event is sponsored by North End Community Improvement Collaborative (NECIC); DRM Productions, Inc; Mansfield Richland County Public Library; The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences; Richland Soil and Water Conservation District; Richland County Master Gardener Volunteers; and Richland Public Health Creating Healthy Communities.
