Linda Kay Hornyak, 69, of Ontario passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017 at her home.
She was born July 27, 1947 in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late William R. and Bernadine T. (Baker) Pryor.
Linda was the soul mate to her husband, Frank for 44 years, a wonderful mother, grandmother and loving aunt. Linda was graduate of Mansfield Madison class of 1965. Linda was an active member of the Ridgeway First Church of God where she held the position of treasurer.
Linda ran her own daycare, Hornyak Daycare for 35 years where she cared for three generations of families. She treated every child as her own. She was a notary and was listed in Who’s Who in America. Linda was a coupon guru and loved to garage sale, was an excellent cook, and enjoyed camping in the Mohican area.
Linda is survived by her husband, Frank Hornyak; her daughter, Jennifer (Terry) Blaine, of Mansfield; two grandchildren, Deanna Givens and Aydan Blaine; two sisters, Elaine (Paul) Weber, of Mansfield, and Marcia Stake, of Mansfield; nieces and nephews, April (Nereste) Gaston, Ric (Diane) Kochheiser, Paula Weber, Mark Weber, Chris (Sharon) Kochheiser, Jason (Heather) Stake and Ryan Stake; and a mother-in-law, Colleen Hornyak and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Joanne “Barbara” Bowman.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Home, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. A funeral service conducted by Pastor John Dodds will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 10, 2017 at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest following at Mansfield Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ridgeway First Church of God.
