ONTARIO — Habitat for Humanity ReStore will move March 2 to a larger location that’s triple the size of its Park Avenue West site.
“We are so excited to be expanding ReStore,” said Veronna Drane, executive director.
She said the organization has been cramped for space and is looking forward to increasing its reach at 2151 Stumbo Road.
ReStore sells new and gently used furniture, appliances, home accessories and building materials at discounted prices. Proceeds support Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building/improving housing, that way everyone has a decent place to call home.
The local ReStore opened at the Hawkins Corner building about three-and-a-half years ago. The first ReStore was opened in Austin, Texas in 1992.
Drane said the organization has found great support at Hawkins Corner, which has enabled them to expand their horizons.
“It’s been a wonderful partnership,” she said.
Habitat for Humanity of Richland and Crawford Counties is preparing for another construction season.
Together with volunteers, community partners and other faith-based Christian organizations, Habitat for Humanity seeks to revitalize communities by building and renovating homes.
Drane said Habitat for Humanity will focus more on rehab projects this year and that they plan to partner with the Land Bank to rehabilitate a house.
