SHELBY — The Music Academy of Karate and Empowerment, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, will host its annual Karate Summer Camp Promotion and Fundraiser on July 25.

The event will run from 1 to 5 p.m. at 3814 Bowman Street Road.

During the event, students will demonstrate the skills, discipline, respect and perseverance developed through their training. The afternoon will culminate with a belt promotion and award ceremony recognizing students who have earned advancement.

Organizers encourage community members to attend and support local youth by participating in a fundraiser dinner and silent auction. A variety of items donated by local businesses and supporters will be available for bidding.

Dinner tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for children 10 and under.

Proceeds will fund two initiatives at the dojo. A portion of the money will be used to complete a mirror project to provide students with visual feedback during training.

Additional funds will support scholarships for students and families who cannot afford full tuition, ensuring more children have access to karate training and character development.

The Music Academy of Karate and Empowerment is dedicated to helping students develop perseverance, integrity, indomitable spirit, courtesy, self-control, discipline and respect.

The public is welcome to attend. For more information about the event, donations, scholarships or karate programs, contact the Music Academy of Karate and Empowerment.
