Helen F. Miller

Helen F. Miller went to be with the Lord Saturday evening, February 24, 2017 in her home surrounded by her family. She was 80.

She was born April 23, 1936 in Danville to parents Pius & Mary (Gardner) Durbin. Helen graduated from Danville High School with the class of 1954, and soon after married the love of her life Charles L. Miller on Aug. 13, 1955. The pair where married for 61 years until his passing on Feb. 14, 2017.

Helen was a devote Catholic. She was a member St. Luke’s Parish in Danville for many years, and also an active member of Resurrection Parish in Lexington, Ohio. At Resurrection she served on the pastoral council, and helped with funeral meals and bingo.

In her spare time, she took pleasure in planting flowers, gardening, sewing, playing cards and spending time with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to have all eight of them over for sleepovers. Helen was always ready with plenty for them to do. She built skate board ramps and a game she created called Ring-O-Peg, which they all enjoyed immensely and have great memories of.

She is survived by her children Julie (Doug) Hamm, Tony Miller, and Rosanne Garcia; grandchildren Benjamin (Kristi Rose) Miller, Anthony (Kimberly) Miller, Brian (Crystal) Hamm, Chris (Hope) Miller, Adam (Julie) Miller, Jared Hamm, Brooke (Martin) Breitinger, and Corey Garcia; 15 great grandchildren; siblings Paul (Kate) Durbin, Dr. Charles (Mary Jo) Durbin, Kay Durbin, and Donna (Dick) Brust; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her Husband Charles L. Miller; son Jan Charles Miller; great grandson Brayden Zachary; siblings Walter Durbin, Margaret Durbin, Doug Durbin, Bob Durbin, and Mary Jo Oberfield.

The Miller family will receive friends Friday, March 3, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where a Vigil Prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Resurrection Parish, 2600 Lexington Avenue with Father Nelson Beaver officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.

Contributions in Helen’s memory to Resurrection Parish may be made at the funeral home.
