SHELBY — Four adults and a juvenile have been charged by the Shelby Police Department in connection with a series of vandalism complaints to businesses, residences and a vehicle.

Sgt. Aaron Bushey, assisted by officer David Barnhart, spearheaded an investigation that led to the seizure of pellet guns and slingshots used in the incidents, which were first reported on Sunday, Sept. 4.

Damage ranged from broken windows to siding damage. Officers determined the damage was caused by both pellet guns and glass marbles at eight separate incidents. Seven of the eight victims provided estimates or bills for repair, with the total damage amount to date of $6,403.67.

As a result of a tip, officers followed up on these cases and through their investigation, four adults and one juvenile were charged. The adults made their initial appearance in Shelby Municipal Court on Friday, charged with:

Jarrett Mullins, 21, of Crestline.

Kenneth Parsons, 20 of Crestline.
