John Krabill

As a farmer, John Krabill learned quickly that you don’t get anything you don’t work for. He’d prefer the smell of fresh country air, early mornings and late nights, and the peace that only farming can bring. Committed, he worked the land, respecting God’s creation and the life lessons it taught.

No longer battling illness or discomfort, John’s hands are now at rest after passing into the arms of his Savior on Friday, Aug. 19, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving and devoted family. He was 61.

The son of Murray and Alta (Snyder) Krabill, John was born June 27, 1955 in Mt. Gilead, and was graduated from Northmor High School in 1974. He married Debra (Wright) Krabill on Aug. 8, 1981 and together the two raised their family in rural Fredericktown.

Coupled with a dedicated and hard-working spirit, John was generous, offering his time and energy to help family and friends. He was a member of Johnsville Mennonite Church.

John is survived by his devoted wife Debra Krabill, of Fredericktown; children Caleb (Luella) Krabill, of Johnsville, Hannah (Jason) Hershberger, of Fredericktown, Hope Krabill, of Fredericktown and Ethan Krabill, of Fredericktown; grandchildren Christopher, Aaron, Melanie, Derrick, Lindsay, and Andrew; siblings Dr. Ruby Payne (Tee Bowman), of Corpus Christi, Texas, Chester (Grace) Krabill, of Mt. Gilead, Sharon (Stan) Swartzendruber, of Hesston, Kansas, Wesley (Susie) Krabill, of West Liberty, and Ruth (Scott) Weirich, of Denver, Colorado; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Murray and Alta Krabill.

The Krabill family will receive friends Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Johnsville Mennonite Church, 7387 County Road 242, Johnsville, Ohio 43338. Burial will follow in Shauck Cemetery.
